Bricklayer Level 2

What is a Bricklayer?

Bricklayers lay bricks, pre-cut stone and concrete blocks in mortar. They construct, extend and repair domestic and commercial buildings, garden walls, decorative chimneys and masonry work along with other unseen structures, such as foundations. At the end of a project they can look back and say “I built that”.

Who is the Apprenticeship aimed at?

  • A bricklaying apprenticeship is aimed at those who are just starting out in the construction industry or those who are already laying bricks but have no formal qualification.

  • A level 2 bricklaying apprenticeship would be ideal for enhancing the knowledge of any operative in a wide range of careers such as property maintenance, hard landscaping and parks management.

  • An excellent way to become a bricklayer is to start with an apprenticeship.

Details of the Apprenticeship:

  • Apprentices will demonstrate an understanding of core knowledge related to bricklaying along with the skills and behaviours to be fully competent as a bricklayer.

  • The apprenticeships will typically take 24 months to complete.

  • Practical bricklaying training will take place at the Lindum Group, a purpose-built training centre for construction.
