What is an Early Years Practitioner?
The broad purpose of the occupation is to work and interact directly with children on a day-to-day basis supporting the planning and delivery of activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes within the ethos of the setting. An EYP works as part of a professional team ensuring the welfare and care for children under the guidance and supervision of an Early Years Educator, teacher or other suitably qualified professional. This occupation is found in a range of private and public settings including; schools, full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes, playgroups, nursery schools, home-based provision, hospitals, social care settings and out of school environments.
Who is the apprenticeship aimed at?

Teaching Assistants who may wish to specialise in Birth to 5 education.

Any new members of staff who wishes to work within Early Year’s provision.
Details of the apprenticeship:

Apprentices will demonstrate the core knowledge, skills and behaviours to be fully competent as an EYP in a variety of settings.

The apprenticeship will typically take 17 months to complete

The main programme is delivered by our team of experts, through group and one-to-one sessions

This apprenticeship standard also includes a BTEC Diploma Level 2 for EYP
