It is a practical, work-based route into teaching that helps schools grow talented staff while shaping the next generation of educators.

The Level 6 Teacher apprenticeship provides a practical route into the teaching profession, combining academic study with hands-on classroom experience.

This apprenticeship develops the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to plan and deliver engaging lessons, manage classrooms effectively, assess pupil progress, and create inclusive learning environments. Apprentices work towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), gaining the expertise to inspire learners and make a lasting impact in education.

9 months + 1 month assessment period

Delivery Method

Delivered via a monthly workshop at our academy in Lincoln. The programme can also be delivered at the employer site, and is supported through regular visits from our Occupational Experts. Reach out if your business has a particular need.

Progression Pathways

Upon completing this apprenticeship, a teacher will have many routes available to them, including:

  • Early Career Teacher (ECT) – Begin your teaching journey with structured support and mentoring.
  • Subject or Phase Leader – Lead curriculum areas or key stages within your school.
  • SENCO or Inclusion Roles – Specialise in supporting pupils with additional needs.
  • Pastoral Leadership – Take on roles such as Head of Year or Safeguarding Lead.
  • Senior Leadership – Progress to Assistant Head, Deputy Head, or Headteacher.
  • Further Study – Pursue NPQs or a Master’s in Education or Leadership.
  • Teacher Educator or Mentor
