What are the benefits of hiring an apprentice?

How much does it cost to hire an apprentice?
You’ll pay their wages, but Government funding may cover 95–100% of the training costs. If you are a levy payer, 100% of the training cost will be covered through the levy. Apprentices under 25 years old are exempt from employer national insurance contributions. You may also be eligible for further incentives, which we'll guide you through.
How long does an apprenticeship last?
Apprenticeships typically last between 12 and 36 months, depending on the level and subject area. Visit our individual course pages to find out how long each one will take to complete.

Do apprentices need to be new hires?
Not necessarily. Apprenticeships can be used to upskill existing staff as well as train new recruits. It’s a flexible way to develop your team.
What are my responsibilities as an employer?

- Pay the apprentice at least the apprenticeship minimum wage
- Work with us to monitor progress and development
